REGISTER NOW FOR THE 2010 DOWN EAST WALK TO DEFEAT ALS

The Down East ALS Support Group serves persons with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), their families, and caregivers. Our members come from Goldsboro, Rocky Mount, Gates County, Morehead City, Greenville, and all points in between.

We meet on the third Sunday of odd-numbered months
.  Programs consist of guest speakers, information sharing, and exchange of ideas.  We co-sponsor the annual Down East Walk to Defeat ALS in the fall.  We also provide a lending closet (e.g. lift chair, wheelchairs, walkers, etc.), courtesy of Stalls Medical Supplies.  Membership is free and open to all.

Our next meeting will be March 21, 2010 at 2 p.m., at the Outpatient Regional Rehabilitation Center, 2310 Stantonsburg Rd., Greenville.  The speaker will be Dr. Melissa Phillips, who is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Phillips is a member of the ALS clinic team and will present a program on role changes encountered by families dealing with ALS.
